伪纪录片形式，找演员和专家还原当年林肯被刺杀的历史现场，并梳理了刺杀者的心理状态。除此之外展现了林肯的战后生活以及当天另一场刺杀行动，充实了林肯生命中最后一天对于美国的意义。相对而言还是拍得挺好看的。

把一个想要通过一场肮脏谋杀一举成名的演员，和统一一国反对奴隶制追求自由而肩负承诺的总统的一天拍摄出来。相形见绌，一目了然。一个人的功业如何判别？沽名钓誉也分为了自己和为了更多人。所以留给历史的尊重和骂名不会忽视人性底层的逻辑，也可以说是事发源头的动机。
虽然避免不了细节上的不准确，但是节奏比较紧凑，比同题材的另外几部好。
